It's a Family Affair

Being Father's Day I popped home to Surrey for the weekend to spend some time with my lovely dad.

My dad is sincerely one of the most intelligent, well-read men I know.  He really is someone I admire and I always think any man I am ever with will have a lot to live up to in terms of my expectations of personality and intelligence.

The day was very relaxed and my grandfather also joined us.  We went out for lunch and drank far too much   Champagne and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and I was even able to stick to my new healthy eating plan (within reason... I did sneak a few crisps if I'm 100% honest).

Slight contrast between mine and my sister's cards (mine is the little owl one!)

I'm wearing:
sheer shirt from Primark
 black top from Debenhams
denim skirt from Topshop
leggings from Cotton On
earrings and shoes from Accessorize
and my necklace was a graduation gift given to me by my beautiful sister which she bought in Thailand.

Oh, hello freckles from Greece.

I love it when my freckles come out in the summer - does anybody else get them?  Love them or hate them?

My great auntie recently died and my mother and father have spent the past few days driving up and down from Newcastle after sorting out all the belongings in her and my great uncle's house (he died a couple of months before her).  After lunch we spent some time pouring over old family albums and studying some paintings from the house.  One of the framed pictures was actually a coat of arms given to one of my uncle's relatives by King Henry VIII.  Pretty interesting stuff actually!

My granny and grandpa's wedding photo (they had a joint reception with my granny's twin and her husband hence the double wedding thing going on!)

I also have been left a fur jacket by my great auntie... I'm still not quite sure if I should take it or not.  What are your thoughts on fur?  I would never buy it but seeing as this jacket is ridiculously old and has already been made I probably would wear it without a guilty conscience.

Look surly

  What do you guys think?

I hope you all had lovely weekends and enjoyed father's day :)
